Best Free Fitness Apps
Sometimes, getting to the gym is just not possible – but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on getting your workout in! There are thousands of fitness apps out there that are designed to help you be the healthiest version of you. What’s best is that a lot of them are totally free! We have compiled a list of some of the best apps to download, from personal trainers to meal prep!
Nike Training Club
Many look to the Nike Training Club as an amazing app that features over 100 free, expertly designed workouts that range from total beginner level to advanced. Most of these require no equipment and so can be done in the comfort of your own home. Perfect for the current situation! Choose from HIIT workouts, yoga, cardio, boxing.. The list goes on!
Couch to 5k
This free app is actually bought to you by the NHS as a way to get people from doing hardly any exercise at all, to being able to complete a 5k run! It creates a programme for you that steadily increases your distance over 9 weeks (or longer if you prefer) so you can gradually get to your goal! It also includes celebrity motivational speakers to get you through your runs! Download here.
MyFitnessPal
Being in the top 5 fitness apps on the app store, there’s no surprise that this one is on the list. Brought to you by Under Armour, it allows you to input all of your meals throughout the day so you can keep on track of your calories (those midnight snacks can really creep up on us!). However, it is important to note that counting calories is not the only thing to keep in mind for your health. Remember to make good, healthy choices alongside the calorie counter and not to focus too much on the numbers. Download here.
Better Points
This app is great if, like us, you just lack motivation when it comes to exercising. The thought of hoisting yourself off the sofa is just too much to handle sometimes! The app tracks your activity levels and rewards you with prizes such as high street shop vouchers! You can also choose to trade in your fitness points to become a donation to your preferred charity. Download here.
iPhone Health App
You might not even be aware of this one, but if you have an iPhone that runs iOS 8 or later, this will already be pre-loaded on your phone! The best thing about it is that it automatically counts your steps all the time you have your phone on you and lets you know the distance you’ve travelled. The app also allows you to input your medical data that can be accessed by first responders if you were to get into an accident!
The fact it was injections really freaked a lot of people out though. Ultimately, taking weight loss medication does make me feel better about myself because they help me to lose weight.
